President's letter - December 2015

To all members of the European Society for Comparative Endocrinology and to all comparative endocrinologists

Dear colleagues and friends

At the end of 2015 I send you my best season ́s greetings and wish you a happy, healthy and successful 2016. In the upcoming year , we shall have an important event, our CECE 2016 which is organized by our dear colleague Jozef Vanden Broeck in Leuven, Belgium from August 21st to 25th (see https://kuleuvencongres.be/CECE2016). The CECE 2016 will cover important and timely aspects of comparative endocrinology and will provide a unique opportunity to present and discuss results and concepts with colleagues from all over the world. Your contribution to CECE 2016 is warmly welcomed.

Great efforts are being made to offer all attendees a stimulating scientific program and an enjoyable stay in Leuven. The scientific program will include five selected plenary lectures, 24 symposia with 48 State-of-the-Art Lectures and 120 oral communications, as well as four poster sessions. A special symposium will be organized for young investigators, with prizes for the best oral and poster communications. Major social events will include a Welcome Reception at KU Leuven’s historic University Hall (Sunday 21st August), and a Social Banquet at the ‘Groot Begijnhof’ UNESCO World Heritage Site (Wednesday 24th August). A fantastic selection of Excursions will also be offered for the Tuesday afternoon (August 23rd).

Please note that a reduced CECE registration fee will be offered all members of the European Society for Comparative Endocrinology (ESCE) who have paid their ESCE membership fee by January 31, 2016 for the years 2016 and 2017. Furthermore, only students from laboratories of ESCE members are eligible for travel grants. Thus, you and your laboratory will benefit from ESCE membership. Membership fees are inexpensive (45€/2 years for advanced researchers and 28€/2years for young postdocs and students). Membership fees should be transferred in Euro to the ESCE bank account:
