A message from our president, Prof. Jozef Vanden Broeck: In line with our long-standing tradition of rotating conference venues, ESCE has launched a call for expressions of interest to host a Future CECE conference. This is a great opportunity for institutions and local organisers to showcase their region and contribute to the continued success of this excellent tradition.  The European Society for Comparative Endocrinology (ESCE) invites researchers and their institutions to submit expressions of interest for hosting one of its upcoming international conferences (particularly CECE-2028 and CECE-2030). Why host CECE? The Conference of European Comparative Endocrinologists (CECE) is organised every other year (since 1962) and brings together researchers from across Europe and beyond. Hosting CECE offers: International visibility for local research teams and institutions. Dear colleagues and friends, We are delighted to share with you the latest updates for the 32nd European Conference of Comparative Endocrinologists (CECE26) that will be held in Barcelona, Spain, from September 6th to 10th this year.  The official website https://cecebarcelona2026.com is up and running, with information on the scientific program, symposia topics, workshops, invited speakers, venue, and the host city. Check back for further updates, including a tool for finding accommodation in Barcelona. Registration and abstract submission guidelines will also be available soon.  The abstract submission deadline is 15 May, 2026. Furthermore, we are pleased to inform you that Elsevier/General and Comparative Endocrinology will be sponsoring the meeting and putting together a special issue afterwards, providing a unique and advantageous opportunity to publish the recent discoveries presented during the conference.

Dear Colleagues and ESCE members, We are very pleased to announce that the 32nd Conference of European Comparative Endocrinologists (CECE26) will be held in Barcelona (Spain) from September 6th to 10th, 2026. The Local Organizing Committee (LOC) is actively working to organize the event, planning a scientific program with a diverse range of symposia in comparative endocrinology in two parallel sessions, as well as an attractive social program. Barcelona is a global hub of research and innovation and very well communicated. It is a coastal city with a sunny climate and many attractions. The venue will be at the Faculty of Biology of the University of Barcelona. A first flyer is attached below, and more information is soon to come, but in the meantime, we ask you to save the date. The 19th International Congress of Comparative Endocrinology (ICCE19) organising committee has extended the registration and abstract submission deadline to  Monday,  March 17th, 2025 . The meeting website,  https://icce19.com,   provides detailed information about the scientific program and information on travel grants to facilitate trainee participation. The 19th ICCE will take place between July 8 - 12 in Sendai, Japan.

Dear ESCE members, We are looking forward to meeting you all this year in Ancona for the next CECE meeting ( https://cece2024.com/ ). Registration for the meeting has already opened. If you are planning to attend, remember that you can benefit from a discount as an ESCE member. However, for that you need to be updated about the payment of your membership fees. On behalf of our Secretary/Treasurer Elisabeth Eppler, I would like to remind you of the importance of paying the Society membership fees, not only for this, but because the payment of the fees is important for the maintenance of the Society. Among others, at this point, the fees will help us provide student grants to attend the meeting. If you have doubts about your payment status do not hesitate to contact her . The Council of the International Federation of Comparative Endocrinological Societies (IFCES) requests nominations for the Bargmann-Scharrer Lecture, the Pickford Medal Lecture, and the Barrington-Kobayashi Lecture, to be given at the 19th International Congress of Comparative Endocrinology (ICCE19) in Sendai, Japan, July 8-12, 2025. - The Bargmann-Scharrer Lecture recognizes the life-long achievements of a prominent comparative neuroendocrinologist. - The Pickford Medal Lecture recognizes the achievements of a comparative endocrinologist under the age of 45 (as of February 16, 2024). - The Barrington-Kobayashi Lecture is a career award that recognizes the lifelong achievements of a comparative endocrinologist. A message from the CECE2020 organizing committee: Dear Colleagues and Friends The evolution of the Covid-19 pandemic makes it impossible to go ahead with the planned 30th Conference of European Comparative Endocrinologists (CECE 2020) in September this year. Therefore, the decision was taken to postpone the conference to 4-8 September 2022 . As the international situation is still uncertain it is premature to make more detailed plans at present. The XII Congress of the Iberian Society of Comparative Endocrinology will be held this year 2019 in Portugal. The congress will take place in Faro from September 26 to 28, 2019 in the Complex of Auditoriums of the Penha Campus of the University of Algarve. The deadline for submission of abstracts has been extended to June 30, 2019 , and the early-bird registration is due on July 15, 2019 . Dear Members of the Society of Comparative Endocrinology, It is with great sadness I share with you the news that Eric Roubos collapsed and died suddenly last Monday. I have been in touch with the family to communicate the sincere condolences of all members of this society. Eric Roubos has left an important legacy for comparative endocrinology, he served the European Comparative Endocrinology Community for many years, as the President of this society in 2002 - 2006, Vice President in 1998 - 2002, Secretary General in 1990 - 1998 and as a Councilor in 1988 - 1990. I would like to share with you, and sincerely acknowledge, the active and important contribution of Eric Roubos to endocrinology by circulating an editorial Bob Dores wrote in 2012 for a special issue of General and Comparative Endocrinology that celebrated the work of Eric when he retired.
